350Z Headlight Stages Explained: Stage 1 vs Stage 2 vs Stage 3

If you've been shopping for custom 350Z headlights, you've seen the word Stage thrown around: Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3. It's not just marketing. Each stage is a different level of build, with more lighting features and customization as you go up. Here's a plain English breakdown so you can pick the right one for your Z (and your budget).

A quick note: every build is made to order and the exact features can be tailored. The breakdown below is the general idea. The specifics for each set are always listed right on the product page.

Stage 1: Clean switchback foundation

Stage 1 is the entry point, and it's about doing the fundamentals right. The headline feature is a switchback setup: a crisp white daytime running light that switches to amber when you signal. It's a clean, elevated look that's also street legal, since switchback white to amber is DOT compliant for front turn signals.

Best for: owners who want a sharp, modern upgrade over the dated stock halogens without going full show car. See Stage 1

Stage 2: Add a switchback halo

Stage 2 takes everything in the Stage 1 switchback setup and adds a switchback halo to the headlight. That halo wraps the projector in a bright, defined ring of light that flips from white to amber right along with your turn signal, giving the front end a real jump in presence while keeping the same clean, street legal look.

Best for: owners who loved the Stage 1 look but want that extra halo detail that makes the build pop at night. See Stage 2

Stage 3: Full RGB, controlled from your phone

Stage 3 is the flagship. This is where the BlueGhozt system comes in. You get full RGB color, controlled right from your phone with the BlueGhozt app. Any color, custom show modes, demon eyes, design series faces. This is the stop traffic tier. We offer Stage 3 in a range of looks like Design Series, Iron Man, and Hex.

One honest note: full RGB color changing lighting is intended for show and off road use. Anything visible from the front of the car needs to be white or amber to stay road legal. The good news is you can keep it on a legal white or amber for the street and switch to color for shows.

Best for: show builds, content creators, and anyone who wants a one of a kind front end. See all Stage 3 builds
